Subject: Rendering support to Postal frontline workers - regarding

Sir/Madam,

This is in reference to the Secretary (Posts)' DO of even number dated 23rd April 2021 addressed to all Chief Secretaries of States and UTS, (copies endorsed to respective HoCs), in which it was requested to give priority to Postal workers for getting vaccinated against Covid-19. The respective HoCs were directed to get in touch with the vaccination nodal officers of the States/UTs to organize special vaccination drive for the Postal frontline workers.

2. Whereas a few Circles / Divisions have managed to organize special camps for Postal frontline workers of both 18+ and 45+ age brackets, several Circles are yet to apprise the Directorate about the steps taken to ensure vaccination of postal employees, especially those falling in the 18-44 yrs age group. Circles may kindly send a status update on socoord.dte @indiapost.gov.in.

3. It is also reiterated that in this period of unprecedented crisis, HoCs are requested to extend all possible assistance to families of Postal workers who have unfortunately lost their lives due to Covid, and also get their family pension, ex gratia payment etc. released without any delay. Similarly, employees, including GDS, who are currently infected and undergoing treatment, should also be rendered support by the Circles.

4. Some Circles Regions have already rolled out Whatsapp based and Online support systems to get in touch with employees GDS needing support. Such best practices can be replicated by other Circles Regions as well. Circles / Regions are requested to kindly share such successful initiatives the IPSA Whatsapp group.
